Food Industry/Agriculture

Resonon’s hyperspectral imaging systems are used in food research and industry to identify defects, characterize product quality, and locate contaminants. For example, automatic “Nut Sorting” can be optimised using Hyperspectral imaging robotically, to separate nuts from shells and other foreign materials, a job traditionally accomplished via manual sorting.

In agriculture, Hyperspectral imaging enables identification of weeds, monitoring of plant health, and evaluation of the ripeness of crops. Resonon Hyperspectral Imaging Cameras are being used in this and similar applications around the world. Using a quantitative approach that these products allow, parameters such as yield estimation in wheat as a function of fertiliser concentration are easily determined.
