These non-contact proximity sensors from STIL, inventors of the chromatic confocal technique, include point sensors and Line sensors.
STIL has designed two families of sensors based on this innovative technology: Point sensors (from 0,1 mm up to 100mm measuring range) and Line sensor (from 1,35 mm up to 4 mm line length with different measuring ranges).
STIL SA manufacture high-resolution non-contact sensors that meet the requirements of the most demanding applications for the measurement of dimensional differences or roughness of surfaces, and thickness of transparent objects, both in industrial quality control and in research laboratories. They can measure any type of sample (transparent or opaque, polished or rough) and any type of material (metal, glass, ceramic, semiconductor, plastic…) and do not require any sample preparation.
“With over 20 years’ experience, STIL has successfully developed a unique technology for non-contact optical measurement which works on the most demanding applications for industry research labs: The Chromatic Confocal. Thanks to this experience and this know-how, our teams keep on innovating constantly with the ambition to ever better serve our clients. Today, STIL R&D department represents over a third of our company. Quality is at the heart of our development policy. Quality always leads our way to find reliable solutions to answer our markets expectations. We can naturally and rapidly adapt to requests from our clients and partners as our structure has kept a human size (about 40 employees), thanks to our willingness and the know-how of all our teams in order to always better comprehend our clients’ applications.” Cosimi Corleto, STIL CEO.
