RF Drivers for Frequency Shifters

AA Optoelectronic offer both fixed and variable frequency drivers for frequency shifting applications. When using variabl frequency devices, customers need to allow for the consequent variation in diffraction angle which will result.

VCO: Voltage Controlled Oscillator These Voltage Controlled Oscillators are the simplest way to control a deflector or a variable frequency shifter, in random access or raster scan mode. A voltage between 0 and 10 V is applied on the frequency control input in order to sweep the frequency. The sweeping time from Fmin to Fmax can be as low as 1 µs. The typical stability of a VCO is 50 to 100 KHz/°C : in option higher stabilities are proposed, and for the sharpest applications, a DDS will be preferred. These drivers are used in combination with AA amplifiers.
